ED attaches Dasari properties worth Rs.2.25 Cr for role in coal scam
Hyderabad, March 31, 2015: The Hyderabad branch of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached property worth Rs.2.25 Cr of veteran film director and former Union minister of state Dasari Narayana Rao for his role in coal scam.
Cash deposits worth Rs.50 lakh, some immovable properties and vehicles in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts are among the properties attached by the ED. These properties are owned by Soubhagya Media owned by him.
Both CBI and ED had registered cases against Dasari Narayana Rao for his role in coalgate that rocked the nation. The scam related to the period when he was minister of state for coal during 2008.
CBI officials had also grilled him twice on his role in the scam in the past.
