Dr. Prabhavathi Gives Vague Replies in Raghu Rama Krishna Raju Case Interrogation

In the custodial torture case involving former Member of Parliament and current Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, the responses provided by Dr. Neelam Prabhavathi have raised eyebrows.
Dr. Neelam Prabhavathi, retired Superintendent of Guntur General Hospital (GGH), appeared before Prakasam District Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar for questioning on Monday and Tuesday. The investigation team questioned her extensively from Monday afternoon until 8:45 PM. She was reportedly asked a total of 20 questions, to which she provided evasive responses. The interrogation resumed the following day from 12 PM to 7 PM.
During the questioning, Dr. Neelam Prabhavathi stated that she is a gynecologist and, despite having served in the position of hospital superintendent, she had limited understanding of internal injuries. She said that the hospital’s medical staff examined Raghu Rama Krishna Raju and submitted a report indicating that there were no injuries. Dr. Neelam Prabhavathi claimed she merely read the report and signed it, asserting she had no further knowledge beyond that.
She further stated that she had forgotten many details and could not provide any additional information. Her repeated responses were described as vague and uninformative. She said that she could only provide clarity after reviewing the relevant records.
Despite the investigation officers’ efforts to extract more specific information, they were unsuccessful. Sources indicated that Dr. Neelam Prabhavathi gave similar, non-committal answers to every question posed to her.
