Kadapa’s Sree Charani Selected for Indian Women’s Cricket Team

Nallapureddy Sree Charani, a cricketer from Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh, has been selected for the Indian senior women's team to participate in the upcoming tri-nation cricket tournament in Sri Lanka. On this occasion, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh extended their congratulations.

"A new cricketing star has emerged from Andhra Pradesh... This time, a girl from Kadapa has made us proud. Congratulations to Nallapureddy Sree Charani on being selected for the Indian senior women’s team to play in the tri-nation cricket tournament in Sri Lanka. All the best, amma," said Chandrababu Naidu in a social media post.

Nara Lokesh also expressed his delight over Sree Charani’s selection to the national team. "Now begins the era of Sree Charani. Kadapa is proud of you. It's thrilling to see you selected for Team India in the tri-series. This is a great development for Andhra Pradesh cricket. We are all looking forward to the honours you are set to achieve," Nara Lokesh stated in his post.

The women’s tri-nation cricket tournament is scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka from April 27 to May 9, featuring teams from host Sri Lanka, India, and South Africa. The Indian women's team for this tournament was officially announced today, and Sree Charani from Kadapa was included in the squad. The 20-year-old is a left-arm spinner.
