Is This the “Achhe Din” Promised by BJP? KTR’s Satirical Jibe at NDA Government

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President and former minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (K. T. Rama Rao) criticised the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre for its decision to increase the price of domestic LPG cylinders by ₹50. Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), K. T. Rama Rao alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government was continuing to burden citizens even as global crude oil prices were declining.

K. T. Rama Rao claimed that the central government had delivered a "hat-trick" of adverse measures in a single day at a time when the public had been waiting for the promised Achhe Din (better days). He stated, “Is this the ‘Achhe Din’ that the BJP spoke of?”

He alleged that despite a drop in international oil prices, the BJP government not only increased the price of LPG cylinders by ₹50 but also imposed an additional ₹2 excise duty on fuel. He further stated that the stock market had suffered a sharp decline, with the Sensex plummeting and approximately ₹19 lakh crore in market capitalisation being wiped out in a single day.

K. T. Rama Rao questioned whether this represented the “Achhe Din” promised by the BJP or the beginning of “Make India Great Again,” taking a pointed dig at the government’s performance and slogans.
