WhatsApp Governance to Cover 500 Services by June: AP Government

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has taken another significant decision aimed at enhancing governance in the state. On Monday, he conducted a review at the Secretariat on the functioning of the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS). During the meeting, Nara Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to establish a special advisory council to improve governance further.

He instructed that the advisory council should include ten experts from reputed institutions such as the Gates Foundation, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and other prestigious organizations. The purpose of this council, he stated, is to conduct a comprehensive study and provide recommendations on what further measures can be implemented to deliver better governance and improved public services.

Nara Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the need to deliver government services through advanced technological platforms such as online systems, digital interfaces, and WhatsApp governance. He directed officials to promote awareness among the public about using services through the "Mana Mitra WhatsApp Governance" platform via mobile phones and to work towards expanding the use of WhatsApp Governance.

He made it clear that by June 12, all services that the government is capable of offering in digital format should be brought under the umbrella of WhatsApp Governance. To facilitate this, he instructed that the data integration process within RTGS must be expedited.

Katamneni Bhaskar, Secretary of the Information Technology and RTGS departments, informed the Chief Minister that currently 254 services are being delivered through WhatsApp Governance, with plans underway to extend the number to over 500. He added that the department is working with the goal of offering more than a thousand services through the platform.
