We Will Move a No-Confidence Motion Against the Assembly Speaker: Harish Rao
BRS MLA Harish Rao has stated that fellow party legislator Jagadish Reddy did not insult Assembly Speaker Prasad Kumar. Addressing the issue, Harish Rao asserted that the term "mee" (your) is not against the parliamentary norms and that even the phrase "mee okkaridi" (only yours) is not considered unparliamentary.
He questioned why Congress members protested and why the Speaker adjourned the session, stating that the reasons behind these actions were unclear. Harish Rao further argued that Jagadish Reddy’s remarks were not disrespectful toward the Dalit Speaker, as alleged.
Harish Rao mentioned that they had met the Speaker and requested access to the relevant records. However, he criticized the Speaker for failing to provide the video footage, even after 15 minutes. Additionally, he accused the Assembly authorities of blocking BRS MLAs from addressing the media at the Assembly media point.
He emphasized that the Speaker should function democratically and warned that if he failed to do so, the BRS would move a no-confidence motion against him.
