Four-Year-Old Child Dies After Getting Trapped in Lift in Hyderabad
Hyderabad witnessed a tragic incident on Wednesday night when a four-year-old boy lost his life after getting trapped in a lift. The accident took place at Santosh Nagar Colony in the Asif Nagar area. The child, who had wandered towards the lift while playing, got stuck inside and remained unnoticed for about ten minutes, enduring severe distress. Despite efforts to rescue him, he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.
According to the police and the victim’s family, the incident occurred at Mujtaba Apartments, where a hostel is being operated. The building’s watchman, Sham Bahadur, a Nepalese national, lived with his wife and child in a small room adjacent to the lift. Around 10 PM on Wednesday, his four-year-old son, Surender, was playing when he accidentally got trapped inside the lift.
A few minutes later, the parents, realizing their son was missing, searched for him and discovered him stuck in the lift, bleeding. Overcome with grief, they sought help, and hostel residents immediately alerted the police. Officers arrived at the scene and managed to pull the unconscious child out of the lift. He was rushed to the hospital, but doctors confirmed that he had already passed away.
The child's death left his parents devastated, as he was their only son. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
