Ravindra Jadeja Responds to Retirement Speculations
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has dismissed recent speculations regarding his retirement from One Day Internationals (ODIs). Reports had surfaced suggesting that Jadeja would announce his retirement if India wins the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. These rumors gained traction after the final match against New Zealand, where Virat Kohli ran towards Jadeja and embraced him as soon as he completed his quota of overs, fueling speculation that it was a farewell gesture.
In response to these rumors, Jadeja took to social media and posted, "Please don’t spread baseless rumors… Thank you." This statement indirectly indicated that he intends to continue playing ODIs for some more time.
Last year, after India’s victory in the T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from T20 internationals. Recent reports suggested that the trio would also retire from ODIs if India wins the 2025 Champions Trophy. However, Rohit Sharma had already refuted these claims earlier.
