Former Minister RK Roja Criticizes Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan

Former minister RK Roja has strongly criticized the coalition government, stating that it has introduced "nine new deceptions" for women in just nine months and, therefore, lacks the credibility to celebrate International Women's Day. Speaking to the media at the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) central office in Tadepalli, alongside the party’s women's wing president and MLC Varudu Kalyani, Roja accused the government of betraying women by making attractive promises before the elections but showing indifference to their welfare after coming to power.

Roja asserted that women achieved true empowerment only under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's administration. She alleged that under the current coalition government, women in the state are living in distress and are unable to celebrate International Women's Day with happiness. According to her, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy ensured that women were uplifted socially, economically, and politically, providing them with 50% of nominated positions and actively encouraging their participation in governance. In contrast, she claimed that under the present government, women are living in fear.

Roja criticized Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Home Minister V. Anitha, stating that they do not respect or care for women. She accused Chandrababu Naidu of governing with revenge, deceit, and betrayal, stating that his administration is characterized by broken promises to mothers and backstabbing the unemployed. On the occasion of International Women's Day, she remarked that people widely perceive this government as one that harms women rather than supports them.

Roja also labeled Pawan Kalyan as a "betrayer of women" and referred to his handling of the Sugali Preethi case to question his commitment to justice. She pointed out that despite Preethi’s mother joining the Jana Sena Party, the coalition government has not granted her an appointment even after nine months in power. Roja demanded to know why the government has not pressured the central government for a CBI investigation into the case, as Pawan Kalyan had once demanded in the past.
