Women Should Utilize 181 Toll-Free Services in Emergencies: Minister Nadendla Manohar

 Andhra Pradesh Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Nadendla Manohar, attended the International Women's Day celebrations held at CRR College in Eluru. As the district in-charge minister, Nadendla Manohar inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized that the state government prioritizes women's economic development and safety. He urged women to make use of the 181 toll-free helpline in emergencies. "We will not compromise on law and order regarding women's safety... We stand with you," the minister assured.

Nadendla Manohar further announced that starting from the next financial year, over one crore women in the state would receive free gas connections under the Deepam-2 scheme. He stated that 96.40 lakh women have already benefited from free gas connections. The minister highlighted the government's commitment to providing quality rice for midday meals in government schools and hostels.

He also expressed full support for the Anti-Trafficking Bill that is set to be introduced in Parliament. Additionally, he stated that the government is working on a special plan to promote industrial development in the state and to empower women as entrepreneurs.

As part of the event, Nadendla Manohar distributed a cheque worth ₹131.82 crore to DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) groups. Later, he visited stalls set up by DWCRA women entrepreneurs.

Several dignitaries attended the program, including Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ghanta Padmashree, Eluru MLA Badeti Radhakrishna (Chanti), Mayor Noorjahan Pedababu, RTC Zonal Chairman Reddy Appalanaidu, District Collector K. Vetriselvi, and Joint Collector P. Dhatri Reddy.
