Sonia Gandhi Commends Konda Surekha for Grand Kaleshwaram Maha Kumbhabhishekam

Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has praised Telangana Minister for Endowments Konda Surekha for her efforts in organizing the Maha Kumbhabhishekam at the Kaleshwaram temple in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district after a gap of 42 years.

In a letter addressed to Konda Surekha, Sonia Gandhi commended the grand execution of the Maha Kumbhabhishekam at the Kaleshwaram Mukteshwara Swamy temple, a site revered as the "Dakshina Kashi" (Southern Kashi). She expressed appreciation for the minister’s dedication in conducting the religious rituals with great reverence and significance.

Sonia Gandhi also extended special thanks to Konda Surekha for sending her sacred waters from the Triveni Sangam and temple offerings. She lauded the minister for highlighting the historical and spiritual importance of the Kaleshwaram Mukteshwara Swamy temple.

The last Maha Kumbhabhishekam at the temple was conducted in 1982 following renovation efforts at the time. After 42 years, the latest Maha Kumbhabhishekam was organized between February 7 and 10, 2024, under Konda Surekha’s leadership.
