AP Government Allocates Major Funds for ‘Super Six’ Promises in Budget
The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated significant funds for welfare and development initiatives in its annual budget, crossing ₹3 lakh crore for the first time. Government sources confirmed that this increase is primarily due to allocations for the coalition government’s ‘Super Six’ welfare promises.
Under the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, the government has allocated ₹6,300 crore to provide financial assistance of ₹20,000 per year to each farmer.
For education, the Talli Ki Vandana scheme aims to support parents financially. Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav announced a budgetary allocation of ₹9,407 crore for this scheme, which will provide financial aid to students from grades 1 to 12 in both government and private schools. As part of this initiative, the government will deposit ₹15,000 annually into the bank accounts of students’ mothers, starting from the upcoming academic year.
To ensure universal healthcare coverage, Payyavula Keshav announced a health insurance scheme providing corporate-level medical treatment. Each family will receive health insurance coverage of up to ₹25 lakh. The NTR Health Services initiative will continue alongside the new health insurance scheme.
The budget also includes provisions for free electricity: Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) families, as well as weaver households, will receive up to 200 units of free electricity per month. Households that depend on handlooms will be eligible for 500 units of free electricity, while barber salons operated by Nayee Brahmins will get up to 200 units free.
Additionally, under the Deepam 2.0 scheme, financial assistance of ₹20,000 will be provided to fishermen during the fishing ban period. Payyavula Keshav stated that necessary funds have been allocated for this initiative.
The budget reflects the government’s commitment to welfare schemes while also emphasizing economic development.
