Who Will Replace JP Nadda as BJP President? Top Contenders Emerge

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing to appoint a new national president following JP Nadda’s induction into the Union Cabinet. Nadda, who was unanimously elected as BJP president in 2020 after the party's victory in the 2019 general elections, had his tenure extended last year to oversee the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Under his leadership, the BJP secured another term at the Centre, leading to his inclusion in the cabinet.

With Nadda’s transition to a ministerial role, the party is now deliberating on his successor. Several senior leaders are being considered for the position, including former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, BJP General Secretary Sunil Bansal, and senior Maharashtra leader Vinod Tawde.

Reports suggest that the party is likely to announce the name of its new president on March 15.
