Amit Shah Apologizes to Tamil People for Not Speaking Their Language
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has requested the people of Tamil Nadu to forgive him for not being able to speak Tamil, acknowledging that it is one of the world's oldest languages. His remarks came amid ongoing tensions between the Tamil Nadu government and the central government over the implementation of the three-language formula under the National Education Policy (NEP).
Speaking at an event in Coimbatore, Amit Shah expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would emerge victorious in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He predicted that the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) would be defeated in the upcoming elections.
Amit Shah described 2024 as a historic year for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), highlighting that Narendra Modi assumed office as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. He also noted that after several years, the NDA government was formed in Andhra Pradesh and that BJP had gained the trust of people in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Delhi.
He asserted that the BJP would continue its fight against dynasty politics and corruption, ensuring victory in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections.
