SLBC Tunnel Accident: Eight Workers Still Trapped
Rescue operations continue at the SLBC (Srisailam Left Bank Canal) tunnel construction site near Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool district, where an accident occurred yesterday. The roof of the tunnel collapsed at the 14th-kilometer mark, trapping eight individuals, including two engineers, two machine operators, and four workers.

As of this evening, authorities have not been able to confirm their condition, raising concerns about whether they are still alive.

Rescue teams have identified approximately 100 meters of heavy mud blocking the tunnel at the 14th-kilometer mark. Efforts are underway to navigate through the debris using fishing boats, tires, and wooden planks to cross the mud-covered section. Only after clearing this blockage will the teams be able to reach the accident site.

So far, rescue teams have advanced up to the 13.5-kilometer point in the tunnel, but mud, water, and debris continue to hinder progress. The remaining half a kilometer remains a significant challenge.
