OpenAI Expands 'AI Agent' Services to More Countries
OpenAI has expanded the availability of its 'AI Agent' service to additional countries, aiming to enhance artificial intelligence-driven automation. The company announced this development via the social media platform X. Designed to function as virtual co-workers, these AI Agents can autonomously perform online tasks based on user instructions.
Previously available only to ChatGPT Pro users in the United States, the AI Agent service is now accessible in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. However, users in certain European nations, including Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland, will have to wait longer for access.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman had earlier stated that AI Agents could perform tasks traditionally handled by software engineers. However, he clarified that these AI tools are limited to executing assigned tasks and do not possess independent reasoning capabilities. While AI Agents may not entirely replace software engineers, Altman acknowledged their potential to significantly impact the industry.
