Group-2 Mains Exam: Sharmila Questions AP Government Over Roster Errors
Andhra Pradesh Congress President Y.S. Sharmila has voiced her support for the Group-2 Mains candidates, who are protesting alleged irregularities in the recruitment process. She has demanded that the Chandrababu Naidu-led government engage in discussions with the affected candidates and address their concerns.

Sharmila highlighted that the notification issued on December 11, 2023, contained errors in the roster system, causing significant distress among aspirants. She warned that if these mistakes were not rectified, it could lead to severe consequences for the candidates.

“There are legal hurdles that could lead to the cancellation of the notification,” she stated, adding that aspirants fear a situation similar to Jharkhand, where job opportunities were lost due to errors in the recruitment process. She emphasized that the candidates were not merely protesting but were requesting the government to correct the mistakes in the roster system.

Sharmila further questioned the urgency of conducting the Group-2 Mains exam on February 23, when even the Advocate General had admitted in court that there were errors in the notification. “Why is the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) acting stubbornly? Why is the coalition government ignoring the protests of candidates across the state?” she asked.

She urged the state government to immediately clarify its stance on the roster system corrections and the Mains examination. “The Congress party demands that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu initiate discussions with the protesting Group-2 Mains candidates,” Sharmila stated in a tweet. She also shared a video of the candidates’ ongoing protests.
