Rekha Gupta to Be Sworn in as Delhi's New Chief Minister Tomorrow Afternoon

The BJP high command has put an end to speculation over Delhi’s next chief minister by selecting Rekha Gupta for the position. Rekha Gupta, who won the recent Assembly elections from the Shalimar Bagh constituency, has previously served as the BJP state secretary. She completed her education at the prestigious University of Delhi.

There had been reports that Parvesh Verma, who defeated AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, was a frontrunner for the chief ministerial post. However, in an unexpected decision, the BJP leadership chose Rekha Gupta. The decision was reportedly made unanimously at a meeting of the Delhi BJP Legislative Party held this evening.

Parvesh Verma, who created a political sensation by defeating Kejriwal, has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister. Additionally, Vijender Gupta has been named the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly. Along with the Chief Minister, six Cabinet ministers are also expected to take the oath of office.

This victory marks the BJP’s return to power in the Delhi Assembly after a 27-year gap. The swearing-in ceremony is set to take place with grandeur tomorrow at 12:35 PM.
