Phone Tapping Case: Relief for Harish Rao in Telangana High Court
Hyderabad: Former minister and senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Harish Rao has received relief from the Telangana High Court in the phone tapping case. The court on Wednesday issued a stay on the investigation into the case registered at Punjagutta police station. It directed authorities not to take any action until further hearings on the petition.

The case originated from a complaint filed by real estate businessman Chakradhar, who alleged that his phone was tapped. Based on this complaint, the police registered a case under multiple sections and arrested a computer operator who had previously worked for Harish Rao.

Harish Rao and Radhakishan Rao subsequently filed a petition seeking to quash the case against them at the Punjagutta police station. The High Court had earlier issued interim orders preventing Harish Rao's arrest in this matter.

Meanwhile, the public prosecutor informed the court that senior advocate Siddharth Luthra would represent the government’s arguments. However, since Luthra was engaged in another case, he sought additional time. Considering this, the High Court postponed the next hearing to March 3.
