Former Minister Vidadala Rajani Gets Interim Relief in Harassment Case
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has granted temporary relief to YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Vidadala Rajani. The case pertains to a petition filed by Pilli Koti, the ITDP president of Chilakaluripet constituency, who alleged harassment by Rajani and her personal assistant (PA).
In his petition, Pilli Koti claimed that he was arrested in 2019 by the then-town Circle Inspector (CI) Suryanarayana for social media posts. He alleged that he was subjected to severe difficulties without being presented before the court. He further stated that the entire incident occurred under the instructions of Vidadala Rajani and that he was harassed based on caste discrimination.
Despite filing a complaint with the police, Koti alleged that no action was taken, which compelled him to seek justice from the court.
After reviewing the petition, the High Court directed the police not to take any stringent action against Vidadala Rajani and her PA. The next hearing has been scheduled for February 20.
