Nara Lokesh Alleges Massive Financial Mismanagement Under Jagan

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has once again launched a scathing attack on YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief and former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of causing severe economic damage to the state. Taking to the social media platform X, Lokesh alleged that the five-year rule of Jagan Mohan Reddy had left the state in financial ruin, weakening all administrative systems and significantly increasing debt.

Lokesh criticized the former chief minister for excessive borrowing, stating that the interest payments on the state’s total debt had surged drastically under his leadership. He pointed out that until 2019, the cumulative interest paid on loans taken by all previous chief ministers over 58 years stood at ₹14,155 crore. However, under Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule, the interest burden on the state’s debts skyrocketed to ₹24,944 crore by 2024. Lokesh emphasized that the interest on debts incurred during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s five-year tenure alone exceeded previous liabilities by approximately ₹11,000 crore.

“These figures stand as clear evidence of the financial devastation caused by Jagan,” Lokesh remarked, holding the former chief minister responsible for the state’s economic deterioration.
