Karan Johar on Rajamouli: “Logic Doesn’t Matter in His Films”

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar made intriguing remarks about the films of renowned Tollywood director S.S. Rajamouli. He stated that some of Rajamouli's movies do not require logic, emphasizing that the director instills complete faith in his storytelling, making audiences believe in his narratives.

Speaking in a recent interview, Karan Johar asserted that great films are not necessarily bound by logic. He cited examples like RRR, Animal, and Gadar, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Anil Sharma, respectively, to support his point.

"Some films succeed more on belief than on logic. When audiences have faith in a film, they do not question its logic. This is evident in the works of great directors. Take Rajamouli’s films, for instance—viewers never discuss the logic in his movies. He has absolute confidence in his stories and executes them in a way that convinces audiences," Karan Johar stated.

He further added, "A director must make scenes appear believable to the audience, and Rajamouli excels in this. The same applies to RRR, Animal, and Gadar. The success of such films is also driven by the trust that filmmakers have in their own vision. Ultimately, a movie's success depends entirely on belief, not logic. Thinking too much about logic is unnecessary; films should be watched purely for entertainment."
