Revanth Reddy Calls for Deeper Analysis of Telangana Movement
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized the need for a deeper discussion on the Telangana movement, stating that although multiple sections of society participated in the struggle, it is being distorted as if only one family was involved. He made these remarks while unveiling the book Vijaya Telangana, authored by former MP Devender Goud, at an event held at Jalavihar in Hyderabad.
Speaking as the chief guest at the book launch, Revanth Reddy stressed the importance of comprehensive literature on the Telangana movement. He acknowledged Devender Goud’s significant contributions, stating that Goud faced numerous challenges during the movement and risked his political career to actively participate in the cause. The Chief Minister also recalled that Goud had fought to ensure that the waters of the Godavari River flowed into Telangana.
Revanth Reddy further pointed out that during the agitation, people wrote "TG" (Telangana) as a symbol of their struggle. In light of this sentiment, he explained that the state's abbreviation was changed from "TS" to "TG."
