Medaram Mini Jatara Begins Today as Devotees Arrive in Large Numbers

The Medaram Mini Jatara, dedicated to deities Sammakka and Saralamma, begins today in Medaram, Mulugu district. The event, held every alternate year between the grand Medaram Maha Jatara, will continue until February 15.

The festival commences with the Mandamelige Panduga today, followed by Mandamelige Pujas on Thursday. On Friday, devotees will fulfill their vows, and the Chinna Jatara (Mini Jatara) will take place on Saturday. The government has allocated ₹5.3 crore for the event's organization.

Authorities have made extensive arrangements for devotees, who are arriving not only from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh but also from Maharashtra, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. As a result, the Medaram region is already witnessing a large influx of pilgrims eager for darshan of the forest deities.
