Kollu Ravindra Alleges Major Liquor Scam Under Jagan's Rule, Promises Action

Andhra Pradesh Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra has strongly criticized former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleging that a major liquor scam took place during his government’s tenure. He stated that action would soon be taken regarding the alleged scam and asserted that no one involved would be spared.
The minister also criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy for challenging the state government’s decision to allocate liquor shop licenses to toddy tappers in court. "While the coalition government is working to support toddy tapper communities by granting them liquor shop licenses, Jagan Mohan Reddy could not tolerate this and moved to court," alleged Kollu Ravindra.
Dismissing the opposition’s claims, the minister accused YSRCP leaders of spreading false propaganda against the government. "They are falsely alleging that we are engaging in liquor-related exploitation," he said. Kollu Ravindra further claimed that under Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration, low-quality liquor was supplied to the public, whereas the current government has ensured the availability of high-quality brands. He emphasized that the government would not compromise on liquor quality.
The minister also accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of encouraging unauthorized liquor outlets, stating, "The history of running belt shops belongs to Jagan."
