Civil Supplies Department Clarifies on Ration Card Applications at MeeSeva Centers
The Telangana Civil Supplies Department has clarified that new ration card applications are not being accepted through MeeSeva centers. The department stated that no orders have been issued to process new ration card applications via MeeSeva.

According to the Civil Supplies Department, only applications received during the Praja Palana (public governance) initiative are being processed online. It emphasized that MeeSeva centers were instructed only to upload applications collected during the Praja Palana program. However, applications related to modifications or additions to existing ration cards are being accepted through MeeSeva.

Reports suggesting that new ration card applications could be submitted at MeeSeva centers led to large crowds gathering at these centers. However, the non-acceptance of applications resulted in confusion among the public. Some speculated that the process was halted due to the Model Code of Conduct for the upcoming MLC elections.

State Chief Electoral Officer Sudarshan Reddy addressed the issue, stating that the Election Commission had not stopped the acceptance of ration card applications at MeeSeva centers. He further clarified that neither the Civil Supplies Department nor MeeSeva authorities had approached the Election Commission regarding this matter.
