Police Register Case Against Teenmar Mallanna for Alleged Caste Remarks
Congress MLC Chintapandu Naveen, popularly known as Teenmar Mallanna, has been booked by Alwal Police following a complaint against him. Inspector Rahul Dev confirmed that a case was registered after local leaders alleged that Mallanna made inappropriate remarks against upper castes during a BC (Backward Classes) meeting held in Warangal on February 4.

In a related development, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee's (TPCC) disciplinary committee issued a show-cause notice to Teenmar Mallanna on Thursday, demanding an explanation regarding his remarks at the same event.

The controversy follows the recent presentation of the BC caste census report in the Telangana Assembly by the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government. Mallanna had strongly criticized his own party’s government, alleging that the report understated the population of Backward Classes. His comments have sparked significant criticism against the Congress, especially as opposition parties have already been raising concerns over the reported decrease in BC population figures.

As a result, the TPCC has sought an official clarification from Mallanna regarding his statements.
