Former Minister Sake Sailajanath Joins YSR Congress Party
Former Congress leader and minister Sake Sailajanath has joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). He was formally inducted into the party in the presence of YSRCP chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Jagan Mohan Reddy welcomed Sailajanath into the party by draping him with the YSRCP scarf.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Sailajanath expressed his readiness to work under Jagan Mohan Reddy's leadership. He criticized the coalition government, alleging that it has failed to fulfill its promises. He further stated that the YSRCP would fight on behalf of the people.
Several senior leaders were present during Sailajanath’s induction, including Member of Parliament P.V. Mithun Reddy, former MLAs Ananta Venkatarami Reddy and Kethireddy Pedda Reddy, among others. Jagan Mohan Reddy also extended a warm welcome to other leaders who joined along with Sailajanath.
Sake Sailajanath was elected as an MLA from the Singanamala constituency in Anantapur district on a Congress ticket in 2004 and 2009. He also served as a minister in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh government. In 2022, he held the position of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president.
