Fake Journalist Gang Blackmails CI in Nalgonda
A gang of fake journalists in Nalgonda district has allegedly targeted police officers, threatening to expose supposed illegal activities unless their demands were met. Notably, a Circle Inspector (CI) succumbed to their pressure.
According to reports, the gang demanded ₹5 lakh from the CI. Unable to withstand their threats, the officer allegedly arranged ₹1.10 lakh through a friend and handed it over. However, the gang continued their extortion, insisting that the remaining ₹4 lakh be paid.
Unable to endure the harassment any longer, the CI reportedly lodged a complaint with senior officials in his department. Acting on their directives, the police launched an investigation and apprehended one member of the fake journalist gang. Authorities have confirmed that efforts are underway to locate and arrest the remaining members.
