APIIC seeks declassification of 2500 acres forest land

Vijayawada, March 18 ,2015: The AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has sought declassification of 2500 acres of forest land in Mylavaram and Agigiripally Mandals of Krishna district for developing industrial estates to help Small and Medium Enterprises ( SMEs) set up their units. As SMEs are unable to buy lands in and around Vijayawada with exorbitant rates to set up industries, APIIC has taken this initiative to help SMEs buy industrial plots for lesser rates so that they can go ahead in launching their units. The file sent by the APIIC is now pending with Government and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has to take a final call on the issue. Industry department officials say that big industries are looking at Krishnapatnam and Visakhapatnam areas as they have excellent road connectivity while SMEs are trying their hand at upland areas in Agiripally and Mylavaram areas of Krishna district.
