Rs 2,000 Notes Found in Vaikunthapuram Venkateswara Swamy Temple Hundi

In a surprising development, discontinued Rs 2,000 currency notes were discovered in the offering box (hundi) of the Vaikunthapuram Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, located near Tenali in Guntur district. The incident has become a hot topic of discussion, as the circulation of Rs 2,000 notes was officially ceased across India in 2023.

On Thursday, temple authorities conducted the counting of hundi offerings in the presence of temple officials, trust board members, and devotees. During the process, a total of 122 discontinued Rs 2,000 notes, amounting to Rs 2.44 lakh, were found among the offerings.
