Amazon to Invest ₹60,000 Crore in Telangana

Amazon has agreed to invest ₹60,000 crore in Telangana as part of its expansion plans. An agreement to this effect has been reached between Amazon and the Telangana government. This development emerged following a meeting between Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Michael Punke, Vice President of Global Public Policy at Amazon Web Services, at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

As part of the investment, Amazon plans to establish and expand data centers in Telangana. The state government has agreed to allocate the necessary land for these facilities. The move is expected to further strengthen Telangana’s position as a hub for data-driven technology and infrastructure.

Separately, Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu met with Infosys CFO Sangraj at Davos. Infosys has agreed to expand its IT campus in Pocharam, with an investment of ₹750 crore in the first phase of the project. This expansion is projected to create approximately 17,000 new jobs, according to state officials.
