Pakistan’s Name on Team India Jerseys: BCCI Secretary Clarifies
The ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled to begin on February 19, will be hosted in a hybrid model across Pakistan and Dubai. As the host nation, Pakistan’s name will feature on the jerseys of all participating teams, alongside the tournament logo.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) initially opposed the inclusion of Pakistan’s name on Team India’s jerseys. The BCCI firmly stated that it would not agree to have “Pakistan” on the Indian jerseys. Despite this, the ICC clarified that all teams participating in the tournament, including India, are required to wear jerseys featuring Pakistan’s name, as per the tournament regulations. The ICC emphasized that no exceptions would be made to this rule.

Following the ICC’s firm stance, the BCCI revised its position. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia responded by stating that the board would comply with the ICC's regulations. “We will adhere to ICC rules and respect their decisions,” said Saikia.

This clarification comes in the context of India’s earlier declaration that it would not play matches in Pakistan. Consequently, the ICC arranged for all matches involving Team India to be held in Dubai, highlighting the unique logistical adjustments necessitated by the situation.
