Sanjay Roy Sentenced to Life Imprisonment in RG Kar Rape and Murder Case
In a case that shocked the nation, Sanjay Roy has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. The verdict was delivered by the court, which also imposed a fine of ₹50,000 on the convict. The incident occurred on August 9 last year, when Roy was found guilty of sexually assaulting and murdering the doctor while she was on duty.
