The game, held in Multan, witnessed a dramatic sequence of events, ending in just 1,064 deliveries, breaking previous records for brevity in Test matches held in Pakistan.

Pakistan batted first, scoring 230 runs in 68.5 overs. The West Indies, in their first innings, collapsed for 137 runs in just 25.2 overs. In the second innings, Pakistan managed 157 runs from 46.4 overs, setting a target of 251 runs. However, the West Indies faltered again, being bowled out for 123 in just 36.3 overs, handing Pakistan a resounding victory.

This match surpasses the record of 1,233 balls set during a 2024 Rawalpindi Test between England and Pakistan. Other notable short Test matches include the 2001 Multan game against Bangladesh (1,183 balls), the 1986 Lahore Test against the West Indies (1,136 balls), and the 1990 Faisalabad Test against the same opposition (1,080 balls). However, the 2025 Multan Test now holds the distinction of being the shortest by deliveries played in Pakistan’s cricket history.
