Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Package Raises Doubts: Botsa Satyanarayana
Addressing the media, Botsa questioned why neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Union Home Minister Amit Shah clarified the privatization issue during their recent public events in Andhra Pradesh. He alleged that the former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government’s objections prevented the central government from taking further steps toward privatization.
Referring to the precarious financial state of the steel plant, Botsa argued that providing financial aid to clear debts would not address the core issues. He questioned how the plant would sustain itself if operational strategies were not disclosed alongside the package. "Announcing a package without outlining a clear roadmap raises suspicions," Botsa remarked.
The opposition leader further criticized the package as a ploy to mislead the public rather than a genuine solution to the challenges faced by the steel plant. He reiterated that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was a rightful asset of the people of Andhra Pradesh and vowed that their fight to protect it would continue. Botsa also accused the coalition government at the center of prioritizing propaganda and grandstanding over public welfare.
