Minister Nara Lokesh Eyes Global Investments at WEF Davos
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, is set to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos from January 20 to 24. As the Chairman of the State Investment Task Force Committee, Lokesh's visit aims to attract large-scale investments and create employment opportunities for the youth in the state.
During the five-day event, Lokesh will meet over 50 ambassadors, industrialists, and business leaders from various countries. A special focus will be on discussions with 30 globally renowned industrialists at the Andhra Pradesh Pavilion to promote the state's investment potential. Lokesh will showcase the state's business-friendly environment, government incentives, and infrastructure facilities to encourage investments.
Lokesh is also scheduled to participate in the Education Governors’ Meeting at WEF, discussing global trends in education and their implications for Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, he will attend sessions on building sustainable ecosystems for intelligent industries, the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in the modern era, and championing gender parity.
Key engagements include roundtable discussions with NVIDIA representatives on establishing Next-Gen AI Data Factories and AI universities, as well as deliberations with Google on AI for Good Governance. Lokesh will also interact with White Shield representatives on the impact of AI transformation on the global labor market and discuss climate action initiatives with the Swaniti Initiative team.
Highlighting his agenda, Lokesh will engage with leading Indian and international media houses such as CNBC, TV18, Business Today, Economic Times, Bloomberg, and Moneycontrol, participating in interactive sessions to further bolster Andhra Pradesh’s global presence.
Strengthening India's green strategic partnership with Denmark will also be on Lokesh's agenda, as he is set to attend a summit dedicated to this initiative. Furthermore, he will serve as a guest at an event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
This marks the first time a minister from the state will represent Andhra Pradesh at the WEF after the establishment of the new government. Industrial circles are reportedly eager to witness Lokesh's efforts to secure investments and partnerships during this high-profile visit to Davos.
