Knife Attack on Saif Ali Khan; Kareena Kapoor and Kids Were Home During Assault
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by unidentified assailants wielding a knife at his Bandra residence last night. During the incident, his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children were present in the house. Saif’s caretaker, who tried to intervene upon hearing the commotion, was also attacked by the assailants.
Reports suggest that the attackers had entered the premises a day prior to the incident. While initial information indicated that a single person attacked Saif, it has now emerged that two individuals had gained entry into the house.
Saif was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery. Dr. Nitin Dange from the hospital disclosed that the knife attack caused a spinal fluid leak due to injuries to Saif’s spine. The embedded knife fragment was successfully removed during the operation. In addition, Saif sustained deep knife wounds on his left arm and neck, for which plastic surgeries were performed. Dr. Dange confirmed that Saif’s condition is stable and he is recovering well.
Saif was admitted to the hospital at around 2 a.m. Dr. Dange explained that the knife had pierced the thoracic spinal cord, located between the neck and lower ribs. The medical team carried out a procedure to remove the fragment and treat the injuries. Saif suffered two deep wounds on his left arm and one on his neck.
Another doctor expressed optimism about Saif’s recovery, stating that with ongoing treatment, he is expected to make a full recovery. Initially, it was reported that Saif sustained six knife wounds during the attack.
