Apologizing Is Not Wrong: TTD Chairman BR Naidu on the Stampede Incident
TTD Chairman BR Naidu has once again responded to the stampede incident that occurred during the issuance of Vaikunta Ekadasi darshan tokens. BR Naidu stated that those responsible for the mishap will not be spared. While addressing the media after the TTD Board of Trustees meeting held at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala today, he remarked, “There is nothing wrong in apologizing for the incident, but an apology alone cannot bring back the lives lost.” He added that it is not necessary to respond to every random comment made by someone.
BR Naidu described the incident as unfortunate and acknowledged that minor lapses had come to their attention. He assured that the nature of the mistake and how it happened would be revealed through an investigation. He further stated, “We will request the Chief Minister to expedite the investigation, and stringent action will be taken against those found guilty.”
BR Naidu noted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had already ordered a judicial inquiry into the incident. He assured that measures would be taken to prevent such mishaps in the future. Regarding compensation, he stated, “The cheques for the victims’ families are ready, and they will be handed over personally at their homes on Saturday morning. Additionally, a contract job will be offered to one member of each bereaved family.”
