Local Body Elections to be Held Soon: Revanth Reddy
Revanth Reddy highlighted the achievements of the government, stating that over 55,000 government jobs were filled in a short period after coming to power. He also mentioned the implementation of several welfare measures, including a waiver of ₹21,000 crore in agricultural loans, the provision of LPG cylinders at ₹500 under the 'Mahalakshmi Scheme,' free electricity up to 200 units for the poor, and free bus travel for women in RTC buses.
Furthermore, he announced that the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme will be launched on January 26, and new ration cards will be issued to eligible families soon. Revanth Reddy urged leaders to ensure that these initiatives reach the public and to respond firmly to criticism from opposition parties.
Reiterating the Congress party’s contribution to the formation of Telangana, Revanth Reddy stated that it was during Manmohan Singh’s tenure as Prime Minister that the state was created. He recalled that they had expressed condolences on Manmohan Singh’s demise and unanimously passed a resolution in the assembly to recommend the Bharat Ratna award for him. He added that a newly inaugurated flyover in the Old City was named after Manmohan Singh.
