Keeravani Collaborates with Ilaiyaraaja as Lyricist for the First Time

Oscar-winning and renowned music composer M.M. Keeravani has, for the first time, penned lyrics for a tune composed by legendary music director Ilaiyaraaja. While Keeravani has written over 60 songs in his career, this marks his debut collaboration as a lyricist with Ilaiyaraaja’s compositions.

The song, titled "Edo... E Janmalodo... Ee Parichayam", will soon be released. It features in the upcoming film Shashtipoorthi, starring Rupesh and Aakanksha Singh in lead roles, with veteran actors Rajendra Prasad and Archana playing key characters.

Speaking on the occasion, the film's director, Pawan Prabha, shared that this is the first song Keeravani has written after receiving his Oscar. The film contains five songs, with lyrics for some penned by Chaitanya Prasad. According to Pawan Prabha, it was Chaitanya Prasad who approached Keeravani with the idea of writing lyrics for a special song, which Keeravani graciously agreed to.

Pawan Prabha expressed immense pride that Keeravani’s lyrics for an Ilaiyaraaja composition would feature in their film, calling it a matter of great joy.

Another notable highlight of the film is the reunion of Rajendra Prasad and Archana after 38 years. The duo previously created magic in the popular film Ladies Tailor.
