If Proven, I Will Retire from Politics: KTR’s Challenge in Assembly
This challenge was directed at Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other senior Congress leaders. KTR criticized the Congress government, alleging that it had failed to provide Rythu Bharosa (support for farmers) and defaulted on assistance for two crop cycles. He claimed that under Congress rule, each farmer in Telangana was owed ₹17,000 on average, amounting to a cumulative debt of ₹26,000 crores across the state.
KTR also criticized the Congress for what he described as misleading claims of providing 24-hour electricity supply. He proposed adjourning the session and visiting Nalgonda district to verify the situation. KTR challenged that if uninterrupted 24-hour electricity could be proven, the entire BRS legislative party would resign.
Demanding immediate payment of arrears owed to farmers and the rollout of a new Rythu Bharosa scheme, KTR emphasized the need for the Congress government to fulfill its election promises. He also urged the Speaker to extend the Assembly sessions by 10 days to allow for comprehensive discussions on critical topics such as electricity, irrigation, and Mission Bhagiratha.
