KTR Named as A1 in Formula E-Car Racing Case, ACB Registers Case
Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) in connection with the Formula E-Car Racing project. KTR has been listed as Accused No. 1 (A1) in the case, while IAS officer Arvind Kumar and HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy are named as Accused No. 2 (A2) and Accused No. 3 (A3), respectively. The allegations center on a payment of ₹55 crore to a foreign company without obtaining proper approvals.
Last month, the state government sought permission from the Governor to register the case against KTR. Four days ago, the Governor granted the requisite approval. Following this, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari wrote to the ACB three days ago, attaching the Governor’s authorization and directing the initiation of proceedings.
The ACB has now formally registered the case against KTR under four non-bailable sections. Reports indicate that KTR may soon receive summons for questioning, with notices expected to be issued within the next two to three days. Concerns of a possible arrest have caused anxiety among BRS party members and supporters.
