The Telangana Legislative Assembly approved three significant bills amid protests by BRS and BJP members. The bills passed without discussion include the Young India Physical Education and Sports University Bill, the Universities Act Amendment Bill, and the Telangana GST Amendment Bill.
The session witnessed intense protests as BRS members demanded a discussion on the handcuffing incident involving a farmer from Lagcherla in Vikarabad district. Both BRS and BJP pressed for adjournment motions to debate the issue.
Despite the opposition's protests, the three bills were approved. A brief discussion on the state's tourism policy followed before the Assembly was adjourned until the next day.
