Govt shying away from debate on issues: Jagan
Hyderabad, March 9, 2015: The second day of the AP assembly budget session began on a noisy note as YSRCP members served adjournment notices seeking discussion on farmers' issues, drought situation and farmers' suicides.
The members raised slogans as Speaker rejected the adjournment motions and disconnected the mike of Opposition Leader Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy.
YSRCP members objected to the act and argued with TDP members leading to an adjournment of the proceedings for 10 minutes.
Later , Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy charged the Government with shying away from discussion on people's issues."9 hand loom workers committed suicide in Dharmavaram alone. The Government has reduced the session duration to 17 days from 40 days. This itself reveals that the government has no intention to debate over issues such as loan waiver, DWAKRA loans, problems of hand loom workers and fee reimbursement," he averred.
