Our heads hang in shame, says Modi over crimes against women
New Delhi, March 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended wishes to the women of India on the occasion of International Women's Day and hailed the “indomitable courage” of women.
However, he regretted the instances of crimes against women. He then urged all to end injustice against women.
He then asserted, “Today we renew our pledge to make women an equal and integral part of our developmental journey.”
He then tweeted: "I salute the indomitable courage & outstanding achievements of women on International Women's Day. http://nm4.in/190D1y3".
In another tweet he said: "Through various schemes & initiatives, our Government remains fully committed to bringing a positive change in the lives of women. 8:11 AM - 8 Mar 2015".
Touching on the subject of crimes against women, Modi said, “Our heads hang in shame when we hear about the instances of crimes against women.”
