AP Bhavan in Delhi, CRDA offices witness farmers protests

New Delhi, March 7, 2015: A group of farmers today gathered at the Capital Region Development Authority ( CRDA) at Navuluru in Guntur district and raised slogans opposing the land pooling policy of the Government. The farmers met officials at the CRDA and asked them to return their consent letters they gave earlier surrendering their land for the construction of capital city. "It is true we gave consent letters to the officials to give our lands for the construction of the capital city but we are no more interested in giving away our lands. We want to take back the consent letters," they told reporters. Not coincidentally, some farmers also demonstrated opposite AP Bhavan in New Delhi today raising slogans opposing the AP Government's land pooling policy.
