No provision for special status for AP in the Act: Venkaiah Naidu

Nellore, March 7, 2015: Clearly indicating that granting special state status to AP may not be a possibility, Union Minister for Urban Development M.Venkaiah Naidu reminded one and all that there is no provision for granting special status to AP in the AP Reorganisation Act. Speaking to media persons at Nellore this morning, the Union Minister said that the Telugu Desam leaders could speak directly to the Centre instead of airing their views against the Centre publicly. Venkaiah said that the Centre has granted Rs.1000 Cr from his ministry's funds towards the construction of the Capital City. "We are all trying to ensure development of the state.More funds will be allotted after the finalisation of the Capital city plans," he said, adding that funds would be allotted for completion of the Polavaram Project too.
