Illegal YSR statues block right of way across AP
Hyderabad, March 3, 2015: Hundreds of statues of late Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy have topped the list of illegal statues erected in Andhra Pradesh resulting in blocking right of way on roads and causing impediments to vehicular moment in several towns.
This was revealed in a report submitted by the Roads and Buildings department to the Government. The report was submitted following a survey conducted by the department.
The report said that 47 out of the 50 illegal statues installed in Paderu and Visakhapatnam divisions alone belonged to YSR. These were installed left and right when YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his sister Y.S. Sharmila toured the places before elections.
In other districts also, YSR statues topped the list of illegal statues installed without permissions. Of course , statutes of other leaders too were there in the list of illegal ones.
While the Government wants to remove all the illegal statues erected after 2011, YSR Congress party leaders have demanded that Government conduct a survey over all the statutes erected in the state even before 2011 and take a final decision.
