Telangana Government Announces Rs 2 Lakh Crop Loan Waiver Guidelines

Telangana Government Announces Rs 2 Lakh Crop Loan Waiver Guidelines

The Telangana government has released guidelines for the crop loan waiver scheme. The scheme will apply to loans up to ₹2 lakhs per family, taken between December 12, 2018, and December 13, 2023. A ration card will be the standard for identifying farmer families.

A dedicated web portal will be set up for the crop loan waiver, and the waiver amount will be directly credited to the beneficiaries' loan accounts in phases. However, loans from Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), Rythu Mitra Groups (RMGs), LECs, and rescheduled loans will not be eligible for the waiver.

A special department will be established to address farmers' queries regarding the loan waiver. Officials have been instructed to resolve any farmer issues within 30 days. For more details, farmers can visit the web portal or contact mandal support centers.

Earlier, Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao stated that a ₹2 lakh loan waiver for farmers would be implemented by August. He also mentioned that since coming to power, the government has deposited over ₹7,000 crores into farmers' accounts under the Rythu Bandhu or Rythu Bharosa schemes.
